In South Asia, Women are WISER

The Women’s Institute for Sustainable Energy Research (WISER), based in Kerala, India, is “promoting the active participation and leadership of women in the energy sector” in South Asia.  As part of USAID’s South Asia Regional Initiative for Energy (SARI/E), WISER aims to educate women about smarter energy use.  To date, WISER has hosted a 3-day “Workshop on Women, Energy, and Enterprise Building,” a 2-day “Capacity Development Workshop for Women on Clean Energy Technologies and Applications,” and a series of capacity development programs for Afghan women.
